November in Thailand marks the end of the rainy season and start of pleasant dry weather, the perfect time to visit! Aside from the weather, November is the celebration of the Loy Krathong and Yi Peng festivals, two of the most significant festivals celebrated in Thailand!

Loy Krathong is a time when people gather near rivers, lakes, and canals to pay homage to the water spirits and offer gratitude. Crafted krathongs are released, which are small lotus-shaped vessels made of banana leaves, flowers, and candles onto the water.

Yi Peng is known for its release of thousands of glowing lanterns into the night sky. As the candles are lit, the lanterns are released, symbolizing the release of worries, troubles, and negative energy as the new season begins.

There is truly no better way to experience another culture than seeing how they come together to celebrate.

Costs are a bit higher during this time, but an experience to never forget. However, in general, Thailand is a very affordable country to visit. We estimate the trip to be 12-14 days, giving enough time to make our way around the country. We always aim to keep costs under $2000 but total may vary during this popular time for up to 2 weeks.
